Dress Code

As we gather in prayer and remembrance, guests are encouraged to wear white or light-coloured clothing, in keeping with our funeral traditions. Modest attire is appreciated; for women, clothing that covers the shoulders and extends below the knees is preferred.

Weather

Rain is anticipated. Please bring weather-appropriate footwear, umbrellas, and outerwear for your comfort.

Arrival and Ceremonies

Immediate and close family members are asked to arrive no later than 10:15 a.m. for the private family viewing and Chanta ceremonies. Where applicable, please check in with Nureen regarding recitation or waras.

The Mayyit and funeral ceremonies will begin promptly at 11:15 a.m.

Virtual Participation

A confidential, private livestream link will be shared directly with family and friends who are unable to attend the onsite prayer ceremonies and wish to participate virtually.

The link will be circulated on the evening of Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Thank you for your patience. It will not be posted on this website, and we kindly ask that it not be shared or posted on any public forum.

Bhati / Family Lunch

All family and friends in attendance are warmly invited to a brief hot lunch and gathering in honour of Shenaz, to be held onsite in the event hall at the Funeral Home and Gardens. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian options will be available.

Lunch will begin immediately following the ceremonies and will conclude promptly at 2:00 p.m., allowing sufficient time for travel to Spartanburg Jamatkhana for the evening prayer ceremonies and Ziyarat.

Paying Last Respects at the Burial Site

Following the completion of the traditional ceremonies, all attendees are welcome to visit the burial site at their own pace. Customary offerings - including water, incense or agarbatti, long-stem roses, or other flowers - may be placed at the burial site as your heart guides you.

We kindly ask guests who are not travelling to Spartanburg to allow those making the onward journey priority for post-funeral visitation and offerings. Your understanding will help everyone honour Shenaz while allowing travelling guests to depart on time.

Arrivals and Departures

Please ensure that we are aware of your arrival and departure times. There are many moving parts, and although we would gladly keep you with us forever, we also want to ensure that everyone returns safely to the airport with sufficient time for their journey home and booked accommodations are not left vacant.
